TONG-IL MOO-DO CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP – GERMANY

GERMANY: TONG-IL MOO-DO CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP
(Reported by GM Takamitsu Hoshiko)
The International Tong-Il Moo-Do Workshop was held from Feb. 20 to 24 in Leipzig,
Germany with 30 participants under the guidance of Dr. Joon Ho Seuk, the Founder of
Tong-Il Moo-Do (TIMD), GMaster Takamitsu Hoshiko, the President of WTMF, Master
Koji Ishizaki , the President of Wonha-Do Japan and Co-President of TIMD Japan and
Master Kai-Uwe Schulze, the President of TIMD Germany. The workshop included the
training of circular motion, forms, one step sparring, grappling, TIMD philosophy
lecture, promotion test, and officiating workshop.
During the workshop, I have heard and witnessed several tearful scenes. When Dr.
Seuk entered the Do-jang during the promotion test which was led by Master Kai-Uwe
Schulze, the German TIMD students greeted Dr. Seuk with bow and many of them
were shedding tears.
After Dr. Seuk observed the promotion test, he spoke to those who attended the
promotion test. Master Kai-Uwe Schulze’s daughter, Anna was overwhelmed by Dr.
Seuk’s presence and she was shedding tears.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Seuk presented Master Kai-Uwe Schulze the
certificate of 5th degree Black Belt and the special appreciation plaque. Anna was
deeply moved and was crying when the photo was taken with her parents.
The demonstration was performed by Master Kai-Uwe Schulze and his students. Dr.
Seuk, Dr. Dieter Schmidt, the chairman of TIMD in Central Europe, Dr. Jack Corley, the
chairman of TIMD in Eastern Europe and Mr. Christian Claus were inspired by their
high-level techniques, unity and disciplined spirit.
Dr. Seuk as the keynote speaker first expressed his deep appreciation to Master KaiUwe Schulze, the President of TIMD Germany for his great accomplishment in
developing TIMD in Germany for 20 years and spoke about the significance and the
goals of TIMD. Then the group photo was taken.
Dr. Seuk met one black belt and was inspired by him who found his wife in TIMD class,
and together with their daughter joined and practice TIMD. Dr. Seuk was impressed
by the strict standard of TIMD promotion in Germany.
Even within 7〜8 years, they can’t receive the 1st degree Black Belt. Master Kai-Uwe
Schulze is even strict to his own daughter. Dr. Seuk truly appreciates his leadership in
TIMD Germany. Through the visit of Dr. Seuk, we all became one and ONE FAMILY!!
