In accordance with the implementation of its 2017-2020 strategic plan, the Tong-Il Moo-Do
(TIMD) Ivorian Federation’s Board of Directors decides to promote the said discipline
throughout the national territory. As a result of this promotion, a club was opened in the city of
Gagnoa to lay the foundations of the Tong-Il Moo-Do in the Göh region.
After several months of training, the Board of Directors of the Federation decides to evaluate
the level of advancement of athletes through a national grading ceremony. This Grading took
place on Sunday, May 07, 2017 at the Gagnoa Cultural Center located in Nairayville district.
Fifteen (15) Tong-Il Moo-Do practitioners took part in this activity. For the Board of Directors
of Mr KOUAME Khassy Georges, Vakoko Samuel and ADJA ADJA Saint Clair, respectively
National President, Chairman of the Permanent National Commission for Black Belt Club
Techniques, Chairman of the Permanent National Commission responsible for Regulation of
the discipline of the validation of applications for degrees and integrated projects.
Six (6) distinguished guests were also present at this grading Festival of Martial Arts:

II. GOALS
The main objective of this activity was to assess the level of progression of the young
practitioners and students of the Tong-Il Moo-Do in the city of Gagnoa.
Specifically, this involved:
Assess the progress of new students,
Establish a hierarchy system in the club,
Proceed with the official launching of the TIMD in Gagnoa
III. EXPECTED RESULTS
Levels of progression for new students are assessed,
A hierarchy system is established in the club
The activities of the club were presented and officially launched
IV. RUNNING OF GRADING
Three (3) phases marked this activity: (i) Speeches and recitation of the TIMD credo,
(Ii) summary presentation of the activities of the Federation to the authorities, (iii) evaluation.
1. Speeches and Recitation of the TIMD Credo
The ceremony began with the
national anthem of Ivory Caost.
Followed by the recitation of
the credo of Tong-Il Moo-Do
and the words of welcome of
Mr. Jean Claude UM-MAHOB
instructor of the Club of
Gagnoa. In his introductory
remarks, he placed the context
of the ceremony, indicating that
the club had been created since
2005. Following the events in
Ivory Caost, there was an
interruption of activities. Since January 2016, at the initiative of the Directorate of the
Federation, it has been enjoined to formalize and gradually relaunch the activities clubs.
He indicated that his club currently has more than 20 new learners and / or students. The training
sessions take place on weekdays precisely every Wednesday and Saturday from 4.30 pm to 6.30
pm at the Garage Koffi area. He thanked the delegation of the Federal office came from
Abidjan, guests and parents who have overwhelmingly responded to this invitation.
Mr. KOUAME Khassy Georges National President of the Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation thanked
the officials, guests and parents of the new learners before presenting the general objectives of
the Discipline. For him, the added value of this discipline rests on his philosophy which is based
on the character education that allows learners to acquire a mature character, self-mastery,
develop loving relationships in their respective families and Put their creativities’ and talents at
the service of the nation and / or society.
He also stressed that the ideal sought by the Inspirator and founder of Tong-Il Moo-Do
respectivily (Mr & Mrs Sun Myung Moon and Dr Joon Ho Seuk) is that this discipline
contributes to the creation of a world peace through is practice. He therefore invited all of them
to join and support the Gagnoa Tong-Il Club, which is in its infancy and its first passage in
rank. For him, this first grade pass aims to assess and progression of new learners.
The chapter of the speeches ended
with the closing remarks of Mr
DOSSO Aboubacar Departmental
Director of Sports and Leisure in
the Göh region. Representing the
tutelage, he expressed his joy to
discover the existence of this new
martial art in his city and
congratulate the leaders of the
federation for the efforts deployed
for the development of this
discipline in Ivory Caost.
He said the Ivorian government through Minister François Albert Amichia sports and leisure,
wishes to promote all sports to achieve the emergence of the Ivory Coast in 2020. Of this done,
he invited the head of the TIMD club of Gagnoa to keep a permanent contact with his Direction
in order to accompany this discipline in his sports projects.
