I. Executive Summary Report
We are honored to welcome Dr. Chung Sik Yong, Chairman of the World Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation (WTMF), on his special visit to Istanbul, Turkey. Accompanying him is the president of WTMF Grandmaster Takamitsu Hoshiko, and Dr. Venus Agustin, executive vice-president and secretary-general of WTMF. Mr. Farhad Nikayin from England was the official interpreter for the Iranian TIMD delegates. This important visit marks a significant step in strengthening the unity and development of Tong-Il Moo-Do (TIMD) in the Middle East and Europe. The Chairman’s purpose is to meet the TIMD regional leaders and provide them clear direction for the future growth of the Federation. Also, a successful online zoom meeting with other European TIMD leaders in the evening of October 29, 2025 and the officials of FFWPU continental leaders of Africa in the morning of October 30, 2025. Both online zoom meeting was successful presenting the vision and the plan geared towards fulfilling the goal of raising-up 30,000 TIMD instructors worldwide. During this visit, Dr. Yong was able to introduce the WTMF global vision of raising 30,000 certified Tong-Il Moo-Do instructors worldwide – a mission that reflects the Federation’s commitment to expand its educational, sports and cultural impact across nations. During the meeting, Dr. Yong emphasized the pursuit of two central
goals:
1) The Internal Goal – to educate and transform the youth through the Philosophy and discipline of Tong-Il Moo-Do, nurturing individuals of character, peace, and harmony.
2) The External Goal – to advance Tong-Il Moo-Do to become a recognized Olympic sport, showcasing its unique values of unity, balance, and global brotherhood. This milestone visit reaffirms the WTMF’s dedication to building a global movement of peace through martial arts – rooted in moral discipline, mutual respect, and a shared vision of one global family. In support of this vision, the World Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation will host a 40-Day International Training Workshop in Cheongpyeong, South Korea, from February 1 to March 12, 2026 with the goal of inviting 120 TIMD Black Belts from all over the world.. This intensive program aims to raise, train and certify 30,000 Tong-Il Moo-Do instructors from around the world, establishing the global foundation for Tong-Il Moo-Do’s recognition as an Olympic sport. The workshop will focus not only on technical mastery but also on cultivating moral character and leadership grounded in the Tong-Il Moo-Do philosophy. This landmark engagement highlights WTMF’s continuing commitment to develop Tong-Il Moo-Do as a vehicle for character education, international friendship, and global peace through martial arts.
